Christmas tree, giant presents, a fireplace with stockings, and a throne for me!

I wrote, in my Storytime History blog post, how my Storytime has continued to grow to new heights this year. What better way to end my amazing year, of musical storytelling, than with a cosy Christmas Storytime at The NEC for the children at MCM Birmingham?
I have visited The NEC many times for the Crufts dog show but this was my first time at MCM Birmingham and it was brilliant! I was thrilled when I saw how beautifully The Treehouse had been set up! There was a Christmas tree, giant presents, a fireplace with stockings, and a throne just for me! Well actually, the throne was for Santa, but he hadn't arrived yet so I was a bit cheeky and sat on it for my Storytime. It was fun!

Storytime with Anna Christina at The Nec for MCM Birmingham and picture book Billy Joins the Circus on Santa's throne
I began with a read-aloud of my picture book, Billy Joins the Circus. The children then heard the Music Audio Story and enjoyed singing and dancing along with Billy. They also heard Superhero Bugs and Christmas Magic! I repeated Superhero Bugs at the end as more children had arrived and I didn't want them to miss out on hearing this story, especially as I wrote it for MCM Comic Con!

One of my favourite moments was during Christmas Magic. In the story, ants march to a barn to deliver Christmas presents. I love to incorporate drama in my Storytime and this was the perfect story to encourage the children to join in with the march. We had so much fun marching all around The Treehouse singing, 'Christmas Magic'. The children also sang this into the microphone which was so cute! My workshop ended with colouring in and the children loved my Superhero Bugs printable. It was a magical Storytime!
