Storyteller Anna Christina was spotted at Wimbledon Library in her pyjamas!
Last week Friday, I was invited to take part in Pyjamarama at Wimbledon Library! Children all around the country – in schools, nurseries and at home – spent the day reading and sharing stories, all in the comfort of their pyjamas! This was a super fun way to encourage children to get excited about reading and to help raise vital funds for BookTrust to help every child get a bedtime story.
I did two live musical readings of my Music Audio Stories. This means I read the stories, in sync with their soundtracks. This is the first time I have ever done a reading like this at the library and even though it was a challenge, it was so much fun.
I chose to read my music audiobook, Bookworms. Although the audio hasn't been released yet, it was the perfect story for this event as it's all about bugs reading in a library. There's even a sweet sing-along song at the end about how much the bugs love to read, and the children sang along with me.
The second story I read was, Goodnight Sleep Tight. I encouraged all the children at the library to lie down and pretend they were going to sleep while I read them my bedtime story. It was so cute! And yes, some of the children were in their PJs and as you can see from the photo above, so was I!
Thank you so much to Brenda, who also wore her PJs, to the wonderful staff at the library and to all the lovely families who attended the event. I will be returning to Wimbledon Library at the end of this month on Monday 30th May for a Storytime Special. Details for this event will be posted soon. But before that, I will be making a BIG announcement shortly about my next three events this month!
