There's a celebration day for everything and why not, it's fun to celebrate things!

Wonderful Weirdos Day!
What a great idea to celebrate being different, strange and AWESOME!
Observed annually on September 9th, Wonderful Weirdos Day is a holiday that celebrates the people whom society has deemed to be strange, unusual, or eccentric. These are the people who march to the beat of their own drums. Sounds like the whole of the Music Audio Stories team!
Who can be considered a weirdo? Well, it really depends on a person’s point of view as to what constitutes weird. Some people think wearing funny hats is weird, or dancing through the frozen food aisle of the local grocery store is weird. It all depends on a person’s point of view. This is the holiday for people to bring out their inner weirdo and have some fun.
Some Weird Facts About Weirdos
- Most artists, writers, musicians and inventors have been considered weird
- Although associated with introverts, there are many weirdos who are outgoing
- Many social subgroups celebrate weirdness. This includes the punks, furry and goth subgroups
- Not every culture looks down on weirdos. Many cultures celebrate weirdness in some way
- The word “weird” means “having the power to control destiny” in Old English. It would be some time before the word was associated with the strange or bizarre

Everybody has an inner weirdo, even if they hide that part of themselves during their day-to-day life, and it’s on this day that people are encouraged to go ahead and bring out their inner weirdo for a little bit of fun. This can be done by dressing in a funny way, or by doing something that most people don’t do. People can also spread the news about this holiday online by using the hashtag #WonderfulWeirdosDay.
Have fun!
