When a fairy flutters into The O2, only one thing can happen. Magic!
Last year, I loved my visits to The O2 and was thrilled to be invited back for more Storytimes this month. I have to say, it was one of the best weekends I have had. It was AMAZING! From seeing my picture on the big screens, just as exciting as the first time I saw it, to entertaining and teaching the lovely children, and signing the very first copies of my new book, it was a weekend I shall remember. 
I was situated at the Upper-Level seating area at Outlet Shopping at The O2. I never quite know what to expect. There are children of all ages; some are shy and introverted, some want to sing and dance with me, while others prefer to sit quietly while I read to them. I am always accommodating and observing which approach will work best for the children. It's my job to inspire them, encourage them to participate and enjoy themselves. Careful attention is needed to gauge what will work best for each child.
Last weekend, I did something new. My Storytimes were based on my new picture book, Chris the Caterpillar. I played the music audio story as we followed the words in the book. It worked like a charm! The children loved being able to see the characters and hear their voices at the same time. As I turned the pages of my book, the music and sound effects transported the children into the enchanted garden in Chris the Caterpillar. It was fantastic!

Not only did the children love my musical book readings, but they also loved meeting "a fairy" at The O2! 
In fact, quite a few people, including a lovely group of teenage girls, all wanted to have their photo taken with "the fairy". It was so cute. I guess people love fairies! I'm heading back to The O2 this Friday and over the weekend, so if you missed me last weekend, do pop along this week.
