When I was first invited to do my Storytime at The O2, back in July, I didn't know what to expect. As I mentioned before, doing a new event in an unfamiliar location can be daunting, as it is difficult to predict how things will go. However, I am happy to report, all of my visits to The O2 were a success!

I am delighted that the number of children from my first visit to the number of children last weekend more than doubled, with the growing popularity of my Storytime! Some families had returned to take part again from a previous weekend, which is truly wonderful! I was located in the Upper Level of Outlet Shopping in a nice area with tables and benches, and a fantastic view of The O2 from above.

Families were able to drop in on my Storytime, check out the Music Audio Stories stall, and get signed copies of my books. As with all of my Storytimes, I included a fun read-aloud of my picture book, drawing, singing, and dancing, and the children loved listening to the stories and hearing the characters' voices and the songs. They also learned about the circus and the Big Top.

I brought blue puzzle mats, and was surprised how cosy it made the space, especially as the seating area is such a wide open area. I must say, I did spend quite a lot of time cleaning these mats! Partly because I am a neat freak and partly because I didn't want the children to sit on dirty mats! I thought it might be difficult for children to concentrate in this area, but actually, they had excellent focus and enjoyed the activities we did together. See all eyes on me above!

One morning, while I was setting up, one of my lovely assistants arrived with a beaming smile to tell me that they had seen me on the big screen at the entrance of The O2. I couldn't believe I had missed it! The next day, when I saw it, I was thrilled. From a local nursery to The O2, my Storytime has taken me to places most unexpected!
